The Art Education Association of Indiana has named Ms. Brenda Betley as the 2018 Outstanding Middle School Art Educator of Indiana. Ms. Betley teaches Art at Riverview Middle School. She is in her second year of teaching for Huntington County Community School Corporation. According to a Press Release by the Art Association of Indiana, "Recipients of this award are nominated by their peers, and are teachers who show outstanding artistic achievement and service in education."
Brenda earned a Bachelor of Arts with High Honors degree in Liberal Arts, and a Visual Art Teaching Certificate from the University of Saint Francis. She also earned a Transition to Teaching certificate from Taylor University. Ms. Betley truly represents the HCCSC Core Value of High Achievement.
“Ms. Betley dedicates countless hours to provide our students a quality art education. She continually looks for ways to engage students and stimulate their creative minds. In my opinion, Ms. Betley is a very deserving recipient of this award," commented Principal James Bragg.
