The HCCSC Board of School Trustees approved revisions to the district's calendars during Monday night's board meeting.
Only minor changes were made to the previously approved 2023–24 calendar. The beginning date and vacation schedule remain the same.
Changes to the 2023–24 calendar include:
— All make-up days being in a synchronous learning format, with 2.5 hours per day for elementary and 3 hours per day for secondary, as per IDOE requirements
— Snow make-up days have been removed
— No regular eLearning days
— Huntington North High School is now included in the open house and parent-teacher conference schedules, with dates slightly adjusted
— Three flex days have been removed, replaced with nine monthly two-hour delay days for professional development for staff, as granted through a flexibility waiver from the IDOE
The 2024–25 and 2025–26 calendars will be modeled closely after the revised 2023–24 calendar, with the only change being Spring Break moved one week to match surrounding district calendars.
The revised 2023–24, 2024–25 and 2025–26 calendars are attached below.
Additionally, HCCSC has revealed the results to its synchronous learning survey, attached below.
