Huntington, IN — At the August 12th, 2024 Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC) Public Board Meeting, the introduction of Officer Daniel Lowes was a key highlight. Officer Lowes, a member of the Huntington City Police Department, is the newest addition to the school resource officer (SRO) team and will primarily be stationed at Riverview Middle School.

Officer Lowes's role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. The HCCSC Board expressed confidence that Officer Lowes will significantly impact the school community through his dedication and commitment to maintaining a secure environment for our children.

In addition to welcoming Officer Lowes, the Board also extended its heartfelt gratitude to Officer Ben Whitman of the Huntington City Police Department and Officer Don Whitney of the Huntington County Sheriff's Department for their ongoing efforts to keep our schools safe. Their tireless work in building meaningful connections with students and the community is vital to creating a supportive and secure environment within our schools.
