Families struggling to pay for their students’ curricular material fees received a belated Christmas present on Monday night at the HCCSC Board of School Trustees meeting, as Huntington First Church of the Nazarene (HNAZ) raised a total of $10,000 to donate to HCCSC to help families with the fees.

The 2020–21 season came to a close on Friday night for the Huntington North girls basketball team, as the Lady Vikes were dispatched in the Columbia City Sectional Semifinals by South Side after a 53–45 defeat. The outcome marks the fourth consecutive year the Archers have eliminated Huntington North from the postseason.

Survive and advance. That is exactly what the Huntington North girls basketball team did on Tuesday night, fending off an upset bid from New Haven in the Columbia City Sectional Quarterfinals with a narrow 31–29 victory. The triumph was the first postseason win for the Lady Vikes since 2017.

Learning Center receives 80/20 grant for expansion project

The Huntington County Community Learning Center received a big boost in its current expansion project after being awarded a grant from the 80/20 Foundation Trust for the development of the advanced manufacturing lab. The grant was approved on Dec. 3, 2020, and was awarded on Jan. 1.
