HCCSC and the Board of School Trustees honored board member Reed Christiansen at Monday night’s board meeting for his time serving on the board. Christiansen was presented with a plaque during the meeting to commemorate his time spent serving the community in the role.
Christiansen represented District 7 from March 2016 until December of 2020. Christiansen’s time serving has been marked by being a valued member of the board through asking thoughtful questions and providing meaningful feedback and insight.
“Mr. Christiansen has been very positive and supportive of the students, staff and administration during his tenure as a board member,” said HCCSC Superintendent Chad Daugherty. “He always thinks of students first when making decisions based upon the policies, recommendations and projects at HCCSC. We thank him for his almost five years of service to the students and community of HCCSC.”
President of the Board of School Trustees Matt Roth had similar sentiments to share about Christiansen’s time serving on the board.
“It has truly been a pleasure to work with Reed during some of the most transformative and challenging times in the recent history of HCCSC,” Roth said. “Reed is very passionate and dedicated about improving education opportunities within HCCSC, and he displayed that through his hard work while on the board. We are going to miss his vision and leadership, and wish him the best.”
Christiansen, who works at Wright Medical, lives in Huntington with his wife, Jennifer, and four children, Braiden, Ava, Mason and Brinlee, all of whom attend HCCSC schools.
