HCCSC and Horace Mann Elementary School accepted a generous donation of school supplies from Partners 1st Federal Credit Union on Oct. 7.
According to Beth Blocker, branch sales manager of the Partners 1st Huntington branch, over 400 school supplies were donated as part of the branch’s fifth-annual Focus on the Students Community Day, held during the month of July.
Supplies donated included backpacks, crayons, folders, notebooks, pencils and more. Any Partners 1st employee who made a donation was entered into a drawing for various prizes including a Bluetooth speaker, coffee maker and iTunes gift card. Blocker also shared that the project was concluded with a community day and ice cream treats on July 30.
“Our branch feels that is great to give back to the community with our projects throughout the year,” Blocker said. “Our membership is very generous in giving back and helping us work these projects, and we like to reward them for being so generous. Our credit union is honored to give back and help our community with this successful project.”
Horace Mann Principal Chris Baut and Horace Mann students were present to accept the donation from Blocker at Horace Mann.
Baut appreciated the generosity shown by Partners 1st and knows the supplies will be beneficial for his students.
“Horace Mann would like to extend an huge thank you to Partners 1st Credit Union for the generous donation,” Baut said. “We greatly appreciate the school supplies and know our students will be able to put them to good use. We appreciate have outstanding community partners and are thankful for their support!”
