Riverview Middle School students perform the Addams Family musicalRiverview Middle School recently performed the musical “The Addams Family”.  Under the direction of Ms. Danielle Webb, 61 students were part of the show.  The show is chosen in the Spring by the 7th grade class who will be performing it in their 8th grade year.  “I select three shows that best fit the students I have that year.  I usually have 50 to 75 students audition for various roles (including stage crew, lights, and running the tracks for the show).

This year, every part had an understudy and those students performed at Horace Mann Elementary School on Halloween.  Cast members practiced Monday through Thursday for 9 weeks.  "We were essentially running two shows…one with the main actors and another with their understudies,” described Ms. Webb.

“Riverview Art and Industrial Technology students helped build and prepare the sets and props.  These students are led by Ms. Brenda Betley (Art) and Mr. Dan Hunt (Industrial Tech).  Our students and staff were a huge help,” commented Ms. Webb.

The musical took place in the newly renovated auditorium at Huntington North High School.  “With having new seats and carpet, I wanted to incorporate the audience this year. So we had our 'ancestors' out in the audience interacting with individuals, thereby utilizing all of the auditorium.  It was great getting to use the updated facility this year.”
